I'm amazed that these two prints have survived. They were stored away at my parent's house with
some of the drawings I did for A level art. I had forgotten I had even done them.
A hard ground etching with some aquatint. You can't see the aquatint much, but I can remember putting
one on. Although I enjoyed being at Hull, I didn't get on well with the printmaking staff and students. They
could have put me off printing forever. I was told that you had to put a fresh aquatint on the plate for every different
tone.
Printed with some help from Alan Smith.
"El Testament d'Amelia"
The images follow the form of the music: A, B, A, B, C. So the first two plates were editioned
so that they could be reworked for the second variation, then a different plate was used for the final print.

These are the first two plates of my illustrations to the Communist Manifesto. Made when I was at
Central in 1984. They were made as a portfolio of etchings presented in a card sleeve with hand set type.

Rough etching planned for use as an illustration to the poem "Hawkwood" by Ken Smith.
From 1985. The work was based on Piero Della Franchesca's sculpture of a horse.
