Artists who played at at Accrington Con Club
When we left the Football Club we found ourselves landed with the Tory club in Accrington.
This was a vast hall of a place but it had a reasonable stage and more adequate lighting than
Great Harwood. It was also more central and we hoped that this would draw in more
customers. The beer was keg but at least it was palatable and you couldn't taste the
Harwood cleaning fluid, which had been standing from weekend.
We had some very famous names at Accrington and I think the players enjoyed the
atmosphere and they certainly respected the attentive and knowledgeable audience.
