To misquote one of Ronnie Scott's classics, 'If you've enjoyed reading this book
half as much as I've enjoyed making it, then I'll have enjoyed it twice as much as you.'
It has been a pleasure to wade through all these old photographs again and to remember
those evenings of the Seventies when we had so much jazz to experience.
I was surprised how sharp these memories were, which is indicative of the impression
the music and the characters had on me and it is a tribute to the members of the jazz
committee who made these things possible.
